The trip begins with paying homage to Lord Pashupatinath, an incarnation of Lord Shiva by visiting Pashupatinath Temple which is one of the holiest Hindu temples, located on the outskirts of Kathmandu valley. After visiting the temple, we fly to Lhasa next day and visit some sites there like Barkhor market. After acclimatizing our body and enjoying our time in Lhasa, we take a scenic drive via several Tibetan cities to reach Lake Mansarovar. Along our drive, we admire views of mountains, lakes and amazing landscape of Tibet. Lake Mansarovar, the highest fresh water lake in the world has religious significance. It is believed that taking dip or bath in this lake will wash away all sins. You can take holy bath before parikrama (circumambulation) of Kailash as well as perform puja and hawan on the banks of the lake. Then, we take drive to reach Yama Dwar, the starting point of parikrama. Non-parikrama group drives back to Darchen after Puja while parikrama group begins their trek to visit North Face of Mt. Kailash and Dirapuk. The trekking is via Dolma La Pass, the highest and toughest pass of entire journey. You get to visit GauriKund, holy lake located beyond the Dolma La Pass. Hindus believe that GauriKund (Lake of Compassion) was the place where Lord Shiva finally admitted his love for his wife Gauri (Parvati).
